2019 League Men and Women Head Coaching applications open!

The application process for the Mt Lofty Volleyball Club League Men and Women’s 2019 Head Coaches are currently open.

Applications will close on Wednesday 5th of December. Reserve and Divisional coaching applications will open once the League Men and Women coaches have been selected.

2019 Head Coach (League) Position Description

As Head Coach of either the Men’s or Women’s League team at the Mt Lofty Volleyball Club you will be responsible for the overall results and success of all men/women senior teams, with the overall aim of winning a League Premiership. As part of this role, you will undertake the Head Coach position of the League team for the duration of the 2019 season as well as mentor reserve/divisional coaches. Throughout the season, a key objective will be to unite the senior teams to form a culture of one program. This position comes with an honorarium payment at the end of the Volleyball SA Indoor season.

The Head Coach will be responsible for the following:

During Preseason

  • Working with the Committee to plan 2019 Season

  • Working with the Executive Committee to select Reserves and Divisional coaching staff

  • Developing preseason trainings

  • Running preseason trainings (with help from other coaches)

  • Assist in planning to compete in the 2019 Warrnambool Seaside competition (March long weekend)

 

During the Season

  • Selection of League team

  • Assisting with the selection of Reserve and Divisional teams

  • Forming basic offensive and defensive structures for all teams

  • Setting and communicating Club expectations through all senior teams

  • Help identify any promotions/demotions

  • Monitor junior players from time to time to identify any players that would benefit from senior training’s

  • Assigns duties to an assistant coach/team manager as necessary

  • Provides a short recap of the game for the Facebook/paper every week

  • Develop coaches across the Club in terms of knowledge and experience

  • Sit on benches of other teams, when available to do so on game days

  • Send in MVP votes for each game of the regular season

  • Foster and maintain a program culture across all teams (Men or Women)

  • Maintain a Club First Culture

  • Follow the Mt Lofty and VSA policies

 

Prerequisites

  • High level of experience coaching State League or higher

  • Obtained, or willing to obtain, Level 3 Coaching Accreditation

  • Must hold, or be willing to obtain, a DSCI Screening

Mt Lofty AGM

Mt Lofty will be holding its AGM on Monday 5th of November at the Bridgewater Inn. Meeting will start at 6.30pm and will be followed by dinner for those interested.

All players, coaches, parents, members and spectators are welcomed to attend to have their say going forward into the 2019 season.

Our Anna to play for Australia in Vietnam

Our very own Anna Schoof has been selected in the Australian U19 Women’s Team who will travel to Hanoi to compete in the U19 Asian Championships in June. This is a copy of the great write up from the Sports section in the Courier yesterday! Some of the games will be live streamed - we will do our best to get these links on the Facebook page!
